Web Design and Hosting
This is my bread and butter business since back in 1995. Thankfully, despite the dot com bust, the crash of the real estate markets and banks, several years ago and Google’s algorithm shenanigans, I continue to make a sustainable income from my web design business. Although, income has declined due to inexpensive do it yourself websites, etc. I also used to do a lot of 360 virtual tour photography, particularly for real estate companies, but YouTube pretty much killed that very profitable sideline.
Although I have been doing SEO since 1995, these days, there is a LOT more to it. I enrolled in a Udemy SEO course by James Burchill, which seemed to have a pretty good method for attracting new clients. Unfortunately it has yet to yield but one new client. I don’t think the concept is bad, but rather people are reluctant to pay for SEO, which is intangible. It’s a tough sell even with long, established clients.
My wife’s Thai Cooking class continues to perform modestly well and she will probably be adding a new course soon. Though it hasn’t cracked the $10,000 level yet, it’s getting there! Not huge money but not bad for a few months.
Several months ago, I created my own course on Udemy – How to Start and Run a Web Design Business. The course as of December 2015 now has 2015 students and is going strong. I have included a coupon here for you to get the course at 50% off.
